Our main subjects for undergraduate school students are “Dental Anatomy”, “Anatomy and Oral Anatomy I”, “Anatomy and Oral Anatomy II”, and “Disection Practice”.
We are investigating to clarify the mechanisms of physiological and pathological phenomena concerning dental and oral tissues. For this purpose, we analyze human teeth and oral tissues of the experimental animals morphologically.
We employ various methods such as light microscopy, histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, micro CT, computer graphic, westernblot, and RT-PCR in our research.
The progressing research subjects in our Department are as follows.
Atrophy and recovery of salivary glands
Effects of soft food intake on oral tissues
