Our research goal is to maintain natural teeth for a long time by applying our research findings. We are conducting research on various themes.
1)Regeneration of periodontium: We developed a nanofiber membrane that has the potential to regenerate periodontium (right panel). This membrane was generated based on the iPS cells and biomimetics concepts.
2)Developing and evaluating restorative materials: We developed several restorative materials for clinical treatment and evaluated them by various scientific methods. We perform this research with universities in Japan and overseas.
3) Restorative treatment based on MI concept: We tried to develop a new method to form a direct resin-bonded bridge using digital scanning and 3D printing devices.
4)Control the spread of COVID-19 by CPC: We investigated the mechanism of cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC) on the inhibition of COVID-19 (right panel). We also tried to develop a new method to prevent COVID-19 using CPC.
In addition to these themes, our department is performing various types of research to contribute to the progression of operative dentistry.
