We engage in both clinical and basic research pertaining to head and neck imaging diagnostics as well as head and neck radiation therapy. Additionally, we are committed to the exploration and implementation of effective radiological education for students and dental trainees.
- Diagnostic Imaging of the Head and Neck using MRI and CT.
We perform imaging examinations employing MRI and MDCT to analyze the pathology of neoplastic lesions, metabolic disorders, and inflammatory conditions in the head and neck region. - Ultrasonography
Ultrasonography is a simple and useful medical diagnostic modality that does not use X-ray. Ultrasound examinations detect blood flow using the Doppler method. By taking advantage of these capabilities, we endeavor to improve the diagnostic accuracy of ultrasound examinations. Our research includes the ultrasound diagnosis using an intra-oral probe as well as the fusion of ultrasound and CT images . - Gustometry
To assess the loss and recovery of taste that occur following head and neck radiation therapy, we are evaluating patients’ taste perception using an electrogustometer. - Radiation therapy of head and neck cancers
We are investigating the utility of dental technology to enhance the accuracy of irradiation and to prevent radiation-induced damage to normal tissues. Additionally, we are evaluating salivary gland disorders post-radiation treatment through salivation tests. - Education of residents and students
Through education, we impart knowledge and skills related to clinical radiology, with the aim of equipping students and residents with a foundational basis to independently resolve clinical problems.
